History Favorites – Trustees’ Choice Presentation
Saratoga County History Center Annual Meeting celebrates its 60th birthday
November 2 at 7pm at the Brookside Museum
The Saratoga County History Center (SCHC) is pleased to announce its 60th annual meeting at the Brookside Museum on November 2 at 7pm in Ballston Spa, NY. The trustees offer a “show and tell” featuring some of their favorite items from the SCHC collection, an overview of upcoming exhibits, and their vision for the future. The annual budget will be presented, and there will be voting for new trustees. The event is open to the public.
“2022 was a tremendous success for the History Center,” said Field Horne, president of the Saratoga County History Center. “We’ve had as many as six beautiful exhibits, including our gardens, which tell the story of Saratoga County. We have re-established a well-used research room, improved our collections and facilities, and continued our exceptional programs and community engagement.”
“Our members have been extremely supportive,” says Andrew Collier, chair of the Membership Committee. “The community has joined us as members and has been a strong supporter of our financial appeals.”
The History Center is dedicated to the preservation and sharing of the diverse histories of Saratoga County. In addition to the Brookside Museum, the History Center provides various innovative, exciting, and educational programs online and in-person across the county.
About the SCHC: The Saratoga County History Center was organized in 1962 as the Saratoga County Historical Society. In 1970, the organization acquired the former Aldridge House resort hotel and opened it as a museum. The History Center holds its annual meeting in November.
