Saratoga County Historical Society at Brookside Museum - Brookside Summer Book Sale

Brookside Summer Book Sale

Have you been searching for an out-of-print book on Saratoga County history? The annual book sale at the Saratoga County History Center may be the answer. Hundreds of books will be arrayed on the iconic front porch of Brookside Museum during the Craft Fair on Saturday, June 21.

Categories include histories of towns and villages as well as the county as a whole; the Adirondacks; horse racing; genealogical methods and sources; neighboring counties; and historical fiction set in Saratoga. Original and reprint copies of Sylvester’s “History of Saratoga County” (1878) and Grose’s “Centennial History of Ballston Spa” (1907) will be on offer. The largest group consists of histories and other books about the City of Saratoga Springs. Original copies of town maps from the 1866 county atlas, suitable for framing, are also available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The sale runs during the same hours as the craft fair, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the museum, 21 Fairground Avenue in Ballston Spa, at the west end of Front Street. For information call the museum at (518) 885-4000.
