Preschool Harvest
Our in-classroom program is available upon request throughout the season
10:00 – 11:00 am or 1:00 – 2:00 pm
Roll up your sleeves and help the farmer process corn from start to finish! Your preschool students will learn about autumn, explore different fall vegetables, and try their hand at shelling, grinding and sifting corn. After their hard work, students enjoy a snack of cornbread and apple juice. This program can be held at the Saratoga County History Center or your school.
This program helps students understand how food is grown on farms and the steps necessary to prepare corn into familiar foods. The activities are designed to help students improve counting skills, color recognition, fine motor skills, ability to work cooperatively as a team, and listening and comprehension.
