Description

This video, produced to commemorate the 240^th anniversary of the British Raid on Middleline Road in the town of Ballston, tells the story of the raiders and their victims. Under the command of Captain John Munro, a force of British soldiers, Loyalist Rangers and Mohawk descended on the unsuspecting militiamen and their families in the dark of night on October 16, 1780. Homes were pillaged and burned and captives were carried off to Canada. But several revolutionaries were saved from certain death by the action of the invaders. Relationships developed before the revolution proved to be their salvation. Based on the book “War on the Middleline” written by James Richmond.
