What did it smell like when you walked past Bischoff’s Chocolate Factory? Have you ever sipped water from the Sans Souci Spring? What did feedsack cloth from Noonan Brothers’ Feed store feel like? How did the trolley bell sound as it worked its way through the village? Explore these oft-forgotten details of a community’s history on this interactive tour with SCHC Director of Education Anne Clothier.

Based on a walking tour usually shared with elementary school students, this is an excellent opportunity for parents or grandparents to bring younger generations along. However, all ages are welcome to join us as we explore the history of Ballston Spa’s industries, hotels, schools, mineral springs, and more.

The tour is approximately 1.25 miles. Please dress for the weather – sturdy shoes and a water bottle are recommended.

We will meet and end at Brookside Museum, 21 Fairground Ave in Ballston Spa. In case of truly inclement weather, we will enjoy a virtual tour indoors at the museum.
