DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a barbecue chicken dinner or a pull pork dinner\, and help support our programs! \nSCHC’s Brookside Museum will be holding a drive-thru Miller’s Backyard BBQ chicken and Pulled Pork dinners to go on Friday\, September 16th\, 3-6pm..  \nEach chicken dinner will include 1/2 chicken\, baked potato\, coleslaw\, and cornbread. Each Pulled Pork will include 1/2 lb. Pulled Pork with baked potato\, coleslaw and cornbread. An 8oz. macaroni and cheese is also available. \nTake-out only \nPurchase tickets below or call (518) 885-4000 to reserve your meals. \nThere will be a limited number of extra dinners available on the day. \n  \nCan’t attend but want to make a donation?  Click HERE to donate now \nOnline sales for the BBQ have ended\, but we are excepting phone orders at (518) 885-4000.  A limited number of meals will be available on a first-come\, first-serve basis the day of.

SUMMARY:“Theas Few Lines” The Civil War Letters of Private Alonzo D. Bump
DESCRIPTION:David Handy\, author of the recently released book Theas Few Lines: The Civil War Letters of Private Alonzo D. Bump\, 77th New York State Voluntary Infantry will present the Civil War experiences of Alonzo Bump as expressed in his letters home to his wife Mary and other family members. David will touch on many aspects of Alonzo’s life as a soldier\, including camp life\, poor rations\, disease\, marching\, combat\, desertion\, commanding officers\, the enemy\, military pay\, and other topics. Books will be available for signing. \n\nSaratoga County History Center is fortunate enough to have a collection of the Civil War Letters of Private Alonzo D. Bump\, many of which were used in Mr. Handy’s research. \nThis in-person event is free\, but donations are always welcomed and appreciated. \n\nRegister HERE \n
