From bootlegging and gambling to corruption and murder\, Greg tells the true story of how the likes of Arnold Rothstein\, Meyer Lasky and Lucky Luciano turned the Spa City into a Gangster’s Paradise. Greg will also be available to sign his two books on Saratoga’s colorful past. This hybrid program with be held in the Museum’s Long Room and can be viewed on Facebook Live. DESCRIPTION:The Saratoga County History Center  is pleased to welcome instrumentalists from the American Federation of Musicians to perform two concerts at Brookside Museum. Performers\, including several from the Albany Symphony Orchestra\, will be playing popular melodies on Brookside’s grand front porch while guests relax on the spacious front lawn. On July 25 at 3 p.m.\, the band will delight the crowd with jazz and dance tunes. Guests are encouraged to sing and dance along. Students and representatives from the famed Dance Factory of Saratoga Springs will be on hand to teach audience members a few basic steps and\, perhaps\, even put on a show. This concert is free and open to the public. Guests should bring their own lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Rain dates will be Wednesday\, July 28.

SUMMARY:Soroptimist Garden Tour
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are on sale now for the 26th Soroptimist Secret Gardens Tour set for Sunday\, July 11. The tour features a dozen unique gardens in Saratoga Springs (including three on one street)\, Ballston Spa\, and Schuylerville. \nVisitors will find a wide variety of designs and plantings\, water features and one-of-a-kind mosaics and sculptures. You’ll stroll through pergolas\, follow a path to a monarch butterfly waystation\, wander along a pond\, meander past fruit trees and brush past grasses. \nTickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the tour\, if still available. This is a self-guided tour\, which will take place July 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.\, rain or shine. Garden descriptions\, a map and suggested driving directions are provided with the ticket\, but you go at your own pace in the order you like. \nTickets can be ordered online or purchased in person at Northshire Bookstore at 424 Broadway in Saratoga Springs; Lifestyles of Saratoga at 436 Broadway\, Saratoga Springs; all four Cudney’s Cleaners retail locations; and Faddegon’s Nursery at 1140 Troy Schenectady Road\, Latham.
