DESCRIPTION:Tour Anchor Diamond Park with Ballston Town Historian Rick Reynolds \nSaturday May 8  10 AM \n \nOn Saturday May 8  at 10:00 AM the Saratoga County History Roundtable will sponsor our first member event of 2021 “Take a Walk in the Park—with History:” Join Ballston Town Historian Rick Reynolds for an historic walking tour of Anchor-Diamond Park\, corner of Route 50 and Middleline Rd.\, Ballston Lake.  Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for this two mile tour. Bug spray also recommended. Due to Covid-19\, please pre-register by e-mail to saratogacohistoryroundtable@gmail.com with number of attendees and your phone number for contact tracing. Slots are limited. You will receive a reminder notice before the event. Masks and social distancing required. Looking forward to seeing our SCHR friends!

DESCRIPTION:  \n\nExpert Next Door Series Episode 11: “The Social Life of Hats” \nDr. Tillman Nechtman and Dr. Erica Bastress-Dukehart\, Professors of History at Skidmore College \nThis program will be held on Thursday\, May 20\, at 7pm \nJoin the Saratoga County History Center  and  Dr. Tillman Nechtman and Dr. Erica Bastress-Dukehart for the eleventh event in our virtual Expert Next Door Series. Grab your fedoras\, Panamas\, bowlers\, pork pies\, and boaters\, because May’s episode of END is all about hats! In particular\, the role hats have played in Saratoga’s storied social scene. Inspired by a spring 2021 course at Skidmore that utilizes Brookside Museum’s chapeaux collection\, Dr. Nechtman’s and Dr. Erica Bastress-Dukehart ‘s presentation will include stories\, students\, and some silliness. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite topper and share their own social shenanigans.
