SUMMARY:America's Turning Point Presents: Revolution on the Hudson - Halfmoon Lighthouse Park
DESCRIPTION:Revolution on the Hudson is a summer speaker series aimed at inviting the public to enjoy our beautiful public parks located along the Hudson River while learning about our revolutionary past. All three events will begin at 6pm and the public is invited to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the grounds. 18th century living historians will be ready to answer questions and provide demonstrations before the speaker program begins at 7pm. 18th Century toys and games along with replica colonial clothing will be available for children to try. SUMMARY:Capturing Flowers: A Class with Photographer David Waite
DESCRIPTION:Come and visit the beautiful gardens at Brookside Museum\, and learn how to take stunning photographs of nature and particularly flowers. \n\nDave Waite\, who is primarily a nature and fine arts photographer\, volunteers much of his time and skills to photograph activities and events at Brookside Museum. He trained and worked as a professional photographer in the 1970s\, left that career\, but returned to photography as a creative outlet in 2003. His work has featured at several regional juried art shows\, including 4 separate occasions at the Artists of the Hudson Mohawk Regional where\, in 2017\, he won the Matthew Bender IV award. He has also received Master Division status and Best of Show at the Central Adirondack Regional Art Show. Other examples of his work can be seen at http://davewaitefinearts.blogspot.com/. \nEmphasis will be on the use of DSLR cameras\, but phone camera users will still have opportunities to learn \nRegistration is preferred and there is a suggested donation of $5 a person. \nRegister HERE

DESCRIPTION:Join the Town of Ballston’s Town Historian\, Rick Reynolds\, in a tour of Hillside Cemetery in Burnt Hills\, NY to learn the role of cemeteries in preserving our history. What goes into the preservation of our past in a cemetery? What stories lurk within cemeteries? Rick will explain how the town of Ballston is preserving its past in Hillside Cemetery and tell the stories of those buried there.\nAfter the program\, visit the sanctuary of the 1820 Burnt Hills Baptist Church which owned the cemetery for over 75 years.\nPlease park in the lot adjacent to the Burnt Hills Baptist Church on Kingsley Road and walk to the cemetery on the other side of the church. Wear good walking shoes!\nRecommended donation is $10 per group (individual\, couple or family)\, but please input the expected number of people in the group so that we can keep track of numbers. \n\nRegister HERE

SUMMARY:Sounds of Summer Concert Series: Dennis Searles and his All-Star Band
DESCRIPTION:Live music will be flowing from the porch and across the lawn at the Saratoga County History Center this July and August.  Come join us for the third annual Sounds of Summer concert series co-sponsored by the Saratoga County History Center and the Saratoga Arts Community Arts Regrant Program\, with the support of the American Federation of Musicians and the Music Performance Trust Fund. \nThe concerts are free\, open to the public\, and will be held at Brookside Museum\, 21 Fairground Avenue\, Ballston Spa\, NY 12020. \nSunday\, July 30: 3pm | Dennis Searles and his All-Star Band will perform a mixed program of classical and pop music.  Rain date: August 2. \nBring your lawn chairs and enjoy a wonderful afternoon of music! \nSaratoga Arts made this program possible through the Community Arts Regrant Program\, funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
