SUMMARY:Ballston's Sacrifice in the War with Mexico
DESCRIPTION:The Saratoga County History Center will present a program by John Cromie and Dave Waite on the Mexican War and the local men who sacrificed their lives in the struggle on Thursday October 5th at 7pm in the Long Room at Brookside Museum. \nThe War with Mexico was the inevitable result of the constant westward movement which came to be known as the United States’ “Manifest Destiny” to expand our nation to the Pacific. In 1847 local men answered the call by joining volunteer and regular army regiments to support the war effort. Some did not return. \nJohn Cromie is a local historian\, and Saratoga County History Center Trustee.  Dave Waite\, is a well-known photographer\, videographer and Brookside Museum volunteer. Both men are published authors who have made extensive contributions to Saratoga County history. \nThis program is free to the public. Donations\, given either online or in person\, and always welcome and gratefully received\, and will be used to support the programs of the Saratoga County History Center \nRegister HERE
