DESCRIPTION:From “Small Business Saturday” November 25 through December 24\, 2023. \nLike its predecessors\, the twenty-third installment of the market will feature only handcrafted products created by local artisans.  Everything from natural soaps and lotions to unique ornaments and jewelry to pottery and photography – simply the best that our community has to offer. \nBrookside Museum\, headquarters of the Saratoga County History Center\, is located at 21 Fairground Ave\, Ballston Spa\, NY 12020. \nThe 2023 hours are as follows:\nTuesday – Thursdays 1pm – 5pm\nFriday 12pm – 5pm\nSaturday  & Sunday 11am – 5pm \nSpecial Hours Sunday\, December 24 11am – 3pm \n  \nThe 2023 Artisan’s Market Holiday Raffle includes items donated by our artisans. Stop into the museum and purchase your raffle tickets.  Tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.  The winner will be pulled December 23. \nThis years market is full\, but artisans should contact Beth Silvestri at bsilvestri@brooksidemuseum.org to be added to the contact list for 2024.

SUMMARY:Sounds in Winter Concert: Lark Strings
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Sounds in Winter concert series\, the Lark Strings will be performing in the Long Room of Brookside Museum on Saturday\, December 30 at 3pm. The concert is free and open to the public.  Please register at https://brooksidemuseum.networkforgood.com/events/64889-sounds-in-winter-concert-lark-strings . \n  \nThe Lark Strings\, composed of three local\, professional musicians\, Jessica Belflower and Heather Chan (violins) and Brian Axford (piano and guitar)\, will present an energetic program mixing classical music heavy-hitters with American fiddle icons. \n  \nThe program will include: \n\nConcerto in D minor for Two Violins and Piano\, JS Bach\nWhen Bidden to the Wake or Fair\, Public Domain (arranged by Mark O’Connor; piano part written by Brian Axford)\nA set of American fiddle tunes\, to include:\n\no   Jole Blon\, Traditional (arranged by Mark O’Connor and Doug Kershaw; piano part written by Brian Axford) \no   Faded Love\, Bob Wills (arranged by Mark O’Connor; guitar part written by Brian Axford) \no   Appalachia Waltz\, Mark O’Connor (arranged by Mark O’Connor and Edgar Meyer; guitar part written by Brian Axford) \no   Lover’s Waltz\, Jay Ungar \n\nFive Pieces for 2 Violins and Piano\, Dmitri Shostakovich\n\n  \nSaratoga Arts made this program possible through the Community Arts Regrant Program\, funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.  The series is co-sponsored by the Village of Ballston Spa and the American Federation of Musicians and Musicians Performance Trust Fund.
