DESCRIPTION:Discover how to make your own Herbal Beauty Products and the Spa experience!\nThe Milton Grange will be offering the next class in it’s herbal series. Presenter Janis Fallon will show you how easy it is to make your own cosmetics have fun and save money at the same time. In addition you will know what you are applying to yourself!  join Master Gardener Janis Fallon and the Milton Grange for this fun\, hands on “spa afternoon”!  You will try out and then make Rosemary Gladstar’s Perfect Face Cream\, a Miracle Cleansing Grains face cleanser and a skin toner using natural ingredients.  We will also have a couple of other body product surprises to make. You will bring home samples that you made yourself.  Not only are these body products fun and easy to do\, but they make wonderful gifts. Please bring a face cloth and towel.  There will be wonderful herbal inspired snacks and beverages too. \n\n\n\nClasses will be presented by Janis Fallon: herbalist\, Master Gardener\, Engineer and Environmental Attorney. SUMMARY:Arkell's Ambition: The Magic of Mt. McGregor
DESCRIPTION:Join the wealthy and wiley William J. Arkell (portrayed by Grant Cottage staff member Ben Kemp) as he tells the story of his ambitious Victorian-era resort project on Mount McGregor. Discover how as a young man Arkell embarked on a mission to draw visitors from nearby Saratoga Springs to his mountaintop paradise. Those visitors would include Civil War general and two-term president Ulysses S. Grant\, who died in a cottage at the resort in 1885. The presentation will feature images of the luxurious wilderness resort provided by the wonders of the magic lantern. Artifacts associated with the resort and Grant Cottage Historic Site will be on display.\n\nThis event is free but donations are gratefully accepted.\n\n\nPlease register HERE

DESCRIPTION:George Ward\, folklorist and singer\, “Canal Balladeer”\, will present a program of historical and personal songs and stories reflecting two hundred years of New York State’s canals and their people.
