Little Sleep for BSHS Seniors in 1916

Below is a portrait of Ballston Spa High School seniors in front of Mt. Vernon, Virginia, April 6, 1926 from the Saratoga County Historical Society collection. A portion of article that appeared in the Ballston Journal on April 5, 1926:

“Students At Washington” “The Washington excursionists left Ballston Spa at 4:25pm, April 2nd. We arrived at Albany safely with an hour at our own leisure. Some ate their supper during this time. At 6:30 the Ballston party left on the first section, car number 375. The party was very lively during the evening. Some entertained themselves with cards. The party stayed up till after we passed Jersey City which was at two o’clock. There was little sleeping done on the Pullman. At 7:30 we arrived in the Washington station. The class have enjoyed every minute of their trip. The weather is fine but the season is a few weeks later than it was last year. Yours truly, Miss Marion Esmond”
