On Saturday, June 20, between 10 AM and 3 PM, hundreds of out-of-print and rare books and pamphlets about Saratoga County will be on sale at the third annual Brookside Book Sale, hosted by the Saratoga County History Center at Brookside Museum. The Book Sale will run in tandem with our ever-popular Craft & Antiques Fair, and will feature rare books and ephemera donated by friends of the museum. Take home a piece of history from the Brookside Book Sale!
Among the topics included will be books focusing on the history of Saratoga County, Adirondack life and history, the American Revolution, Saratoga Springs, horse racing and horse breeding, genealogy and genealogical research, local towns, cities and villages, neighboring counties, and historical fiction. Rare prints include several 1866 maps of individual towns, and many postcards, brochures, booklets and other printed matter will be arranged by town and subject for browsing.
Among other hard-to-find books, there will be copies of Sylvester’s History of Saratoga County, Grose’s Centennial History of the Village of Ballston Spa, and the 1871 and 1890 directories of Saratoga County. All materials were donated for sale by the museum’s friends, or are triplicates from the museum’s library.
