Chips, Beer, and Specialty Drink Announced for Saratoga Chips and Beer Festival

The Saratoga County History Center and DeCrescente Distributing Company are proud to announce that the Saratoga Chips and Beer Festival at Brookside Museum will feature Saratoga Chips, Saratoga Springs’ Druthers Brewing Company’s All-in IPA, and seasonal favorite Sam Adams’ Oktoberfest.  The festival takes place on Saturday, November 12, from 1-5 pm at Brookside Museum, located at 21 Fairground Avenue in Ballston Spa.

This friendly, casual gathering celebrates two things that go well together, potato chips and beer. The famous Saratoga Chips are featured in the museum’s current exhibit, “In the Saratoga Style: Potato Chips and Their Regional Folklore.”

Mechanicville-based DeCrescente Distributing Company sponsors the Saratoga Chips and Beer Festival. Festival drinks will include cider, foreign beer, an assortment of strong seltzers, and sodas from Saranac and Saratoga Water.  The festival will also debut our own “Brookside Brew,” a non-alcoholic autumn juice punch.  Festival goers can enjoy the original Saratoga Chips, the first chip in America represented by DeCrescente Distributing Company.

The festival, a benefit for the Saratoga County History Center, is $20 in advance, and $25 on the day of the event, while designated drivers will be $10.  SCHC members receive $5 off.  The first beer or non-alcoholic punch or drink is included in the ticket price.

John Kirk and Trish Miller of Greenfield Center, who are beloved for bringing fiery fiddle tunes, folk songs, and whimsical kicks to audiences worldwide, will provide live music.  To round off the festival, there will be a campfire, a s’mores station, a silent auction, and a game of potato chip trivia.  The exhibition showcases the vast collection of famed potato chip authority Alan Richer, “The Toga Chip Guy.”

This evening will enable the History Center to continue our mission to help residents, and visitors.  Everything is set for an afternoon of good music, history, and fun.  Saratoga Chips and Beer are a perfect combination.  Tickets can be purchased at https://brooksidemuseum.org/event/saratoga-chips-and-beer-festival-2/.  For more information, call 518-885-4000.
